1999年美国数学竞赛AMC8试题精选

AMC（American Mathematics Competitions）是美国数学学术活动的简称，包括AMC8（初一和初二参加）、AMC10、AMC12三个年级；类似于中国的全国初中数学联赛和全国高中数学联赛。是美国最有影响力的全国性数学学术活动，AMC学术活动获奖对于申请美国顶尖大学读本科非常有帮助。

美国数学学会对于AMC8有一段官方介绍，具体如下：

The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.

The AMC 8 provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers. Students apply classroom skills to unique problem-solving challenges in a low-stress and friendly environment.

AMC8有25道选择题，要求在40分钟完成。AMC8的前身为 AmericanJunior High School Mathematics Examination (AJHSME)，1999年正式改名为AMC8，和高中的AMC10/AMC12保持一致的命名规则。

虽然美国IMO国家队在近几年的IMO比赛中成绩优异，多次获得团体第一。但与我们最初的印象一致，AMC8试题的整体难度，相比中国的初中数学联赛难度还是有不少差距，甚至不如中国的华罗庚金杯小学组的难度。

以1999年的试卷为例，虽然考察了许多重要的知识点，但整体难度，对于许多中国6年级学生来讲，都是足以应付的。所以，这篇文章只选择最后的2题展示一下，让读者对于1999年的AMC8的难度有一个初步了解。

2点说明：

我们保留英文原题，不翻译成中文。因为，学生只要经常阅读英文数学试题，习惯之后，就能够很好理解题意。这也可以同时培养学生，通过英语这门工具，学习数学这种基础学科。
